I say F your GF and her parents lives. I was laid off July First and it really, really sucks! :-(
#11 - Maybe they hadn't told her yet.
that would seem like an odd thing to keep from your daughter dontcha think?
Not if they were trying to protect her for a while, until they figured something out. It's not all that uncommon.
Yeah, it said they had gotten laid off THAT day. Don't you think maybe they didn't want to spoil their daughter's good mood by telling her that, and instead were planning to tell her the next day or something?
That's possible. But if they got laid off and were upset all day wouldn't the daughter ask what was wrong and then they could tell her? I suppose they could have said "we'll tell you later darling" or something like that. TBH this situation just depends on too much we don't know. So there's no real point in debating.
Awhh man that sucks. How would you have known? Sorry. FYL.
better idea... "Hey is something wrong. kinda seems like you're both upset?"
Aaah, this is where the old 'What's wrong?' phrase comes in.
it's not like you knew in the first place. i'm sure they won't hold it against you
Ah, that sucks dude:/ but it's not your fault...
Someone respond to my comment
^ Whoo! i responded to your comment!! haha :P

damn that sucks :( but how were you supposed to have known?
I love that a lot of FML's seem to happen because couples don't tell each other anything. If I was the girlfriend I would've given my boyfriend a heads up.
