that's a good and a bad thing
No it doesn't. Who's gonna up & send you money via western union or some other service just because you send messages on FB claiming you're stranded. People aren't completely retarded. Even your immediate family would at least want to hear your voice telling them your situation & then they would buy your plane ticket, not just throw you a random sum of money. This shows OP's friends & family aren't complete morons that buy into bullshit stories before using their brains to assess the situation. Good on them for being cautious.
Actually a good this. OP should be glad none of his friends fell for it.
^Thing*
^ Killer Bee is awesome :)
Wouldn't it be suspicious if you can afford to go on fb rather than finding a phone when you're stranded and out of money?
maybe it's a good thing because your friends knew you went overseas?
whos op
these scams are very obvious ur friends probably knew it was a stupid hacker

Clearly you don't either
...and how have you come to the conclusion that I have no friends... you sir, are a fool!!
53- well for one you spell using numbers. That right there makes you a looser.
I think you mean loser?... smartass

lol good one :D
:) cheers to that
98, did your "mommy" tell you that?
lol
98 - Uh.. dude your a dick
Are you five years old?
What's the neneenene for ?
Admiral Ackbar: It's a trap! Also, did anyone notice that this FML and the one above have the same location?
umm.. Victoria is a big place mate, what's your point?
The world is an even bigger place, dude. What's YOUR point?
Go get yourself some new friends.
Like a kangaroo.
You're missing the point, #4. Op's friends were smart enough to not respond to the Scammer's message on her account.
So... you mean he should find dumber friends who will believe an "I'm overseas and need you to send me money." message?
Your friends were smart enough to know it was a scam. Be glad you have smart friends. Be worried that your friends might see this and realize that they have a dumb friend.
yeah. maybe they didn't respond cuz you're on facebook oversees and running out of money? that makes perfect sense
i agree ive seen this happen to an old grade school teacher of mine ppl hack emails for moolah
Or maybe your friends are not as dumb as you think they are and they knew you weren't overseas... Suck it up.
They probably knew it was fake. I got an email from "my dad" claiming he and my family were trapped in Scotland, needed money because theirs had been stolen, and somehow had no access to a police station or a phone but somehow had access to a computer. I called my dad laughing and saying, "You bitches went to Scotland without me???" and he had no idea what I was talking about. The funny thing was I was the one who was actually overseas at the time.
Win.
could be they all knew it was fake. I've seen that scam before so I would not respond to it.
I feel like the term "hacked" is being misused here, and this was all actually your fault.
That must invalidate all cases of phishing and poor practice involved by the OP instantly. Someone call Facebook HQ and tell them there's a hacker on the loose.
lol ikr. he opened a strange message on facebook stating that he could grow his dick in 1 week but he did that from his own computer on his own wifi so hes safe right? nooot! some people would need an internet security 101 class.. would make the web alot safer
