Suspicious behavior

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I found out that driving five miles an hour under the posted speed limit is "suspicious" and cause for a field sobriety test, breathalyzer, having your car searched and being handcuffed on the side of the road. FML

Sounds like the cop doesn't know the law very well (surprise surprise). Any evidence would have been tossed...he's a moron.

@#2: What? There are plenty of reasons to be driving under the speed limit: - it's dark - bad weather - you are unfamiliar with the territory/trying to find a place you've never been - you don't know the speed limit - you're car is impaired

I definitely understand OP. I was pulled over for doing 65mph on the highway. It was pouring rain and it was pitch black outside, and to top it all off I had been without my glasses and didn't like to drive at night or in the rain for that reason. I ended up with a ticket for an expired driver's license (but i needed my glasses to get it renewed). But there was no reason to pull me over in the first place! He said it was suspicious behavior. At least I didn't get harassed like you did. I feel your pain. FYL indeed!

People like you piss me off. Drive the ******* speed limit. It's posted there for a reason. Don't act like others don't have places to be. You're just holding up traffic.

doesn't matter now op has no case once you allow them to search even if they didn't say the police could you consent to the search that's the cop being a douche and taking advantage

That doesn't make sense...unless your car looks like something a dealer would drive...

There has to be more to it considering a police officer needs a warrent to search you. So what he did was illegal and if there is nothing more to it than you have the right to sue.

I can't stand when people drive slowly like that. I bet OP deserved it.
