it's really not that hard to make friends. even random people in public will hold a conversation with complete strangers. go out and make merry!

Go look on Facebook for local groups with interests you have such as book clubs or whatever. Or go take a class at your local library, college, adult school or whatever. reconnect with old friends. Get out there OP. Friendship works both ways you can't expect others to want to be your friend if you don't put in the effort.
