wow...that really sucks...i know if that was my bf i would've been dumped and probably cursed out heavily, if not worse...hope this doesn't sound judgemental but you should definitely get rid of her because if a phone bill is more important to her than a diamond necklace obviously given with love, she is definitely not worth your time or money.
dump her. I keep every single thing that my boyfriend gives me. even if it's a piece of paper he made into origami
why didn't she just ask u for money???
ouch! you yourself should know your gf's style.
Hate to break it to you, but she neither cares about that necklace nor you if she was willing to pawn it off to pay a phone bill. You're an idiot for spending $1500 on a girlfriend (heaven knows I wouldn't spend that much on a bf unless there was already a ring on this finger) but cut your losses and run!
dump her!! dump her now!! it was a very sweet of you to buy her such a nice necklace and she has to go and be a bitch about it and pawn it. if she was having problems she should have come to you instead of going behind you back and selling something you bought her. if she cant come to you now about things like this then what do you think will happen if yall were to get more serious and get married and bills get tight? oh and whats wrong with a guy giving a girl a pearl necklace my then boyfriend now husband bought me one back in high school and i love it. its a pink pearl with a diamond butterfly, yeah it came from zales which sucks but we were kids and its still a beautiful piece of jewelry that i still wear all the time. yeah id like a diamond necklace but the new car sitting in the driveway just isnt gonna allow for that right now. there are more important things like a mortgage and car payment to deal with than a stupid piece of jewelry. oh and maybe hes not rich maybe hes just not some kid in high school or middle school and has graduated college and has a good job(big maybe on that one right now) but you never know. i didnt look at his profile to see if he has his age listed but still.
Aaaaand the fail award of the day goes to you! They weren't talking about an ACTUAL pearl necklace. I don't know if your naivete is cute or sickening, but you certainly brought the lulz on that.

So go to the pawn shop, get it back & give it to someone who cares enough to keep it.
Run. My first wife pulled something like this just before she got pregnant (on purpose). I went into the marriage with no debt and money in the back and filed a joint bankrupcy for $200,000 about two years later. It is obvious she cannot handle her business and $1500 is a small price to pay to find this out.
