Today, after Boris made his Monday night lockdown announcement, my husband announced that no way can he handle another lockdown stuck in the house with me and two teenagers, so he drove all night to our static caravan and insists he’s staying there alone until lockdown is over. FML

if my husband did that then I would likely tell him not to bother coming back and file for divorce lol! leaving your wife home with kids during lockdown and online learning is just an asshole thing to do (obviously if they're going away for work that's different) I know mine would never in a million years do that to me 🤣

Most static caravans in the UK are on official sites - they are basically pre-fab cabins almost and are certainly not old or run down! And I wouldn't worry OP, if yours is on a site then I suspect he will be sent right back home again as I don't think they are allowed to open.

it's when you take an old camper, camper van, RV or whatever you call it in your country put it up on wooden or cement blocks on a piece of property in the woods it becomes a camp

Not in the UK, here they are essentially caravans that sit permanently on a site and are much more like cabins. They are normally pretty posh with lots of rules that they can't be over 20 yrs old etc. It would be what I'm assuming is a park home in the US? Although here there are different sites depending if you can live in them permanently or only use them for holidays.

What an absolute door handle. Lockdowns are tough for everybody, but there's no need to be a selfish Richard and ditch your other half and sprogs to go and hide in a caravan.
