Thanks, I guess?

Today, I met my biological parents for the first time, 29 years into my life. They turned out to be two of the most pathetic people I have ever met, and the meeting ended after they asked me to lend them money because I "literally owe them my life." FML

Sounds familiar. I wouldn't even bother dealing with them. You're 29, you don't need these kind of people in your life.

#134, Really? -___- OP even said "I don't owe you anything" so it's safe to assume that no they did not lend them the money...

they probably sent you up for adoption because they knew they'd be pathetic parents but it's stupid they told you that you owed them your life

I've beem where you are OP. When I was 10 years old I met my biological father. At the time he seemed to really want to get to know me and make up for not being there for 10 years. After a year he stopped staying in contact and then the contact quit altogether. Being 10 I was devastated, but as I grew older I realized that even though he may have helped give birth to me, he'll never be my father. That honor goes to the man that stepped up and took care of a single mother and her 1 year old baby. He is my father, the man who helped me to become the man I am. The people who took care of you and have been there for your 29 years of life are your parents, and always will be. I'm sorry you had to go through this, but now you know what they're like and can move on to the next step in your life.

yanno everyone is bein all negative what about the good stuff like hey your parents are still together #begrateful

I'm so sorry. My husband and I gave up a daughter 15 years ago. We can't wait for the day she contacts us! I'm so sorry that your meeting wasn't beautiful and wonderful.

op, I think you were meant to be with who you're with, and if your birth parents arnt decent, that's horrible, I can relate, but the thing to look forward to/hold on to, is that you have people that care for you, and love you, that's what you need to hold on to. just realize you are a great person, and deserve all the world has to offer you. just know that you are cared for
