I know that FML is supposed to be for everyone but isn't kinda weird how your almost 60 and you are on FML?
I'm calling bullshit on this one
You're 59 and post to FML? That's freaking awesome.
the one thing I hate about this site....how instead of saying stuff back and trying tto fight this bullshit these people are getting into. they come home and post about it....DONT TELL US! TELL THE COP WHO GAVE YOU THE DAMN TICKET. YDI for not sticking up for yourself.
Dude, get over yourself. My mother is 56 years old, has a fused spine, a metal rod in her spine, and two prosthetic hips. You don't see her trying to play up that fact to get special treatment, she didn't cheat the system to get a handicap pass. Grow up. You don't need a handicap sticker for that, and stop whinging because someone called you out on the fact that you don't need or deserve that sticker. Leave it for somebody who actually is disabled and truly needs that spot.
I was 19 when I had a pulmonary embolism (blood clots in my lungs). I couldn't walk far because I'd get extremely winded. I was given a temporary handicapped placard. Normally I'd walk to class, but since I couldn't, I drove to the closest parking lot. As I'm walking from my car to the building, a campus cop calls me back to my car. He questions me, asks if I have a handicap plaque. I said "yes it's on my rear view mirror." He said "Oh well you just hopped right out of your car." I was so mad that this guy didn't just open his eyes to see the plaque. He felt it was necessary to make me walk back to my car and then also be late to class.
Almost sixty and using FML nice

Who is it for her to decide if you're disabled or not? Wow. I hate people like that. Of course not all handicaps are always going to be noticeable.
I'm pretty sure you can definately appeal against that. People with mental disabilities can get the cards and you cannot physically look at them to see if they're disabled.
