Today, I got a report telling me how I had handled a mystery shopper at work. In this report, I found out that instead of saying, "Thank you" I'd said, "Have a nice day, take care." This kept me from getting a $150 bonus. FML

Ah mystery shopper, the bane of any retail workers life. My employer is just as stupid. Things like 'bye bye'=wrong but 'bye'=good. Stupid company.

YDI for not following corporate policy... even though its messed up that they wouldn't reward you for being more awesome, you still have to follow the directions set by your superiors; you ****** up and deserve this... but at least you know that your place of employment wants you to be a robot instead of a caring individual, maybe you should find a new job?

FYL. Really, like everyone has said, it was being kind and sincere. This might be something to take to your boss. "Thank you" just seems too bland, imo.

i absolutly hate mystery shoppers. They cause me not to get a raise 2 years ago. They only ask you what the company that sent them tells them to ask you and they will check more than you ask. I work at a visitor center and a mystery shopper came in asking where kangaroo island and i politely told her there was no such thing here. She insisted it was so i looked it up and didnt find anything. I told her once again that there was no such thing here she leaves and i have a report like a week later saying that i wasnt interested in kangaroo island. HOW CAN I POSSIBLY BE INTERESTED IN SOMETIHNG THAT DOES NOT EXIST HERE! They are a bunch of people only there to make your life worst.

I'd never EVER worked in a place where they did mystery shoppers until this summer and I have to say I'm NEVER doing it again. My boss pissed me off so ******* much nagging everyone about it and 90% of the time I didn't go through all the scripted shit they expect us to ask because I can tell when people are busy or don't care and frankly, I didn't give a shit because we weren't given a bonus for our performance or whatever. **** big box corporations and the stupid tactics they use to grade their own stores.
