24... did you really just give them advice to 'take up a hobby'? I feel like, although in general, hobbies are good things, it is NOT good to let hobbies replace friends. It would not be good for the OP to take up a hobby and sit in their house perfecting it then joining a book club and never hanging out outside of the meetings. They're obviously not a loner kind of person seeing as they have friends of 11 years. The fact that these people didn't think she was so bad because at least this one friend was there for a long time. Don't think I am just some stupid person here admonishing, because I have been in this situation before. Once seven years ago, and another time five years ago, and I am better because of it. It sucks to have your best friends tell you that you're not the person they want around. You have the power to decide who you want to be. Don't be afraid to be yourself. Many people put on a mask for a long time before they start showing their friends their true colors because they're scared they won't be liked. I learned that when you are yourself right from day one, the people who are truly going to be your friends will seek you out. Some good can come of this. The day five years ago that my "best freind" told me she didn't want to talk to me ever again, I became friends with one of my best friends today. I'm confident she'll be around for the rest of my life. So don't worry, OP. You'll be okay :)

Although the kid had the nutsack to say it to your face, he's just being a dick. Friends are hard to come by, and when "friends" waste your time being your friends it actually becomes a problem. And if you thought that they were your friends then that means you might have spent a considerable amount of time with these kids, just to find out they didn't like you and just had you around because they hated you. I have had to deal with moving around from friends a lot, but eventually it becomes easier to do. So if you don't want to waste your time with a bunch of jerks, then go find an old elementary school friend or something and see what they are up to. Hopefully, the kid was just pulling your leg, you should try asking one of your closer friends in the group and see if he was telling the truth.

I've been that person too. That's kind of shitty for your best friend to tell you, but I'm sure there are some people in the group who genuinely like you. You just have to figure out who your real friends are. ^^

Take the high road. Be glad that you are no longer "friends" with them. Close the door on that group of people. Pretend they never existed to you and eventually you won't need them. They may try to connect with you again in the future, even to apologize. Don't acknowledge them. Leave them behind. Find yourself new friends.
