The last to know

Today, my grandmother called me to tell me that there will be a nice, single guy for me to meet at the family reunion. She went on and on about how perfect he was for me. I didn't have the heart to tell her I'm a lesbian, and have been out to the rest of the family for over six years. FML

A guy at the family reunion? He's a family friend right?...and not a relative

Two problems op...family reunion is not the place to meet dates! And no taking dating advice from yer grandma who probably doesn't know what gay is!!!

Maybe it's time to tell her! Honesty is the best policy right!

Maybe she knows and is trying to turn you back into a Jedi?

Oh yes because "we" are on the darkside, did you know that we also study witchcraft as well.. Grow up!

Wow, deja vu. it took me 3 years to come out to my great gram & pa after telling the rest of my family 10 years ago.. My grandpa is a racist, sexist, WW2 vet and my gram is a conservative, quiet, sweet 96 year old lady, but after finding out, they both treat me the same and still love me. They have gotten use to my partner & love our daughter unconditionaly. I thought I was going to be disowned for sure, but I never wanted to live without being myself around my gram. With all that said, I am sure ur grandma loves u so very much, especially if she is willing to try and "hook u up". ;) I would tell her and hope for the best but do it on ur own time, when ur good and ready. much love + luck

Before just coming out right away, u can try asking what she thinks of the lgbtq community or bring a gay friend and see how she reacts to them. :) just a lil thought.

You can't be blamed mine went on about how her friend had a grandson like that and how disgusted she was that they treated it like it was normal sigh

You know you have to say something some day.
