Today, my grandmother called me to tell me that there will be a nice, single guy for me to meet at the family reunion. She went on and on about how perfect he was for me. I didn't have the heart to tell her I'm a lesbian, and have been out to the rest of the family for over six years. FML

At this point, don't tell granny because her feelings would be hurt that you did'nt include her in on this, so just play along. When the guy asks what you like to do for fun, just tell him, ''nothing you could participate in, besides watching.''

I wouldn't necessarily call it lying to her vs just keeping the information to herself. It's not like the OP is not telling people. The rest of her family has known for 6years. Sometimes the older generations don't understand and are so set in their ways of thinking. Why stress the grandmother out and frustrate herself? The OP knows who she is and shouldn't have to prove herself to anyone. (:

Well, no one better than you to know how she would react. She's your grandmother, not ours. If you think she wouldn't react nicely, then probably it's better this way. But give her a break about the whole family reunion thing, at least she's looking out for you.

Just tell her the truth... The truth shall set you free. If you told everyone else, I don't see the problem. If your grandma has a problem with you being a lesbian, then too bad, that's her problem, not yours. The rest of your family accepts you anyways. Just be friendly with the guy and be honest with both of them. Best thing you can do is be honest with who you are and be confident :)
