To be fair that's one of the funniest things I've read on here! Classic
Why hadn't you talked to your daughter about what to do when this happened?!
I didn't get my period until I was fourteen. I was at home and didn't know what was going on and mum just pulled me aside. We hadn't discussed what to do when my period came. Whenever I went on a camp before, she'd tell me that if I got my period that I should go to a female in authority and tell them. Of course, for a few years it was unimportant. I had sex ed lessons and even one in year 5 where they told the girls about pads and tampons and how to use them etc. So I knew vaguely what I had to do, but I still needed mum.
omg. your poor daughter!! o.0
he probably didn't have proper supplies. at least he tried. we all make fat decisions in the heat of the moment that don't always make sense later, but quick thinking is better than panic or no action at all! good dad!
My dear your husband is an idiot even my husband knows what a pad is, how to put it on and how it works.
for future reference, what does one do in such an situation?
You go out and buy some pads, and tell her how to use them (although they're pretty self explanatory)

To be fair, that is not entirely wrong, considering a tampon works like a sponge anyway. I say A for effort.
Nice parenting... you'd think he would have done a quick Google at some point before she hit puberty.
