any reliance that heavy on a single computer is dangerous. A single point of failure will destroy that business.
Pretty irresponsible of IT to let a machine go that long without updating, and especially without some kind of redundancy,
Yeah, leaving a computer on for 11 years? Seriously, no restarts or shut downs ever? You're lucky the damn thing is still alive. I have computers at my work that are 20 years old and they don't even handle updates anymore, and they're slower than molasses in January. This sounds like a computer that needs replaced if it's that old and hasn't been updated for that long. That's just opening the entire company up to vulnerabilities like hackers and viruses. Terrible idea.
