she should have failed the understudies for not being available, what are understudies for?
yeah actually this is kinda good, since you will probably get sympathy and if you go to higher administrators you can get it settled out
dudde tell yourr rents or go complain the the principal get that bitch bonedd!!!
I'm a professional stage manager. The fact is, this is what happens in theatre. If your understudies can't go on--and that's assuming you're lucky enough to have them--the show must go on anyway. I known had actors who have gone onstage, done their song, run offstage and vomit and then go right back on. I personally have done entire shows on broken bones. It is just what you do, period, or you don't get involved. I don't encourage doing any of the things that I mentioned above, but dammit they happen and one must just power through. Your director did handle it badly. You should not have been failed, and that is something you will want to talk to her about. She also should have explained to you and the rest of the cast ahead of time her "show must go on" policy, because that does vary from director to director, even in schools. But, chances are, she failed you for trying to refuse to do the show more than for your illness. My high school theatre's policy was "take a tums and tough it out." It's a dog eat dog world and it's really horrible and hard. You have to really love it to be willing to put up with the mental, emotional, and physical trauma actors and crew members are put through every day.
YDI if you don't stop her from failing you by going above her head. But FYL nonetheless, w/ the throwing up on classmates and all.
She should have failed your understudies.

Complain to the principal. That is totally out of line.
Your teacher's a bitch...an obvious but necessary comment!
