I got a busted water pipe under my house that caused all those little bastards living underneath to come into my house, so I stayed at a hotel for a night, left my cat with some friends, and fumigated my entire house with a can of bug spray. FYL indeed
Maybe they just don't notice them as much as you, or don't even report them? Everything else is highly unlikely.
Spiders are hunters and migrators they go to where the food is. most spiders hunt bugs you do not want around your house ,so you might want to get your room checked out. If there's an unusual amount of spiders it's because they're hunting a large amount of bugs which are attracted to either; A carcass of some sort or moisture source (like a leaky pipe) or mold.

I hear a lot of circus clowns moonlight as exterminators. A bunch of them will come to your house in a little tiny car and take care of your spider problem. Scary problem solved!
