Your parents seriously need to quit life. I mean, that's $10,000 (well, $9900) from YOUR own personal account. I'm assuming you're already 18, by the way. What your parents did is, in fact, ILLEGAL (as far as I know) as long as you had already turned 18 before your parents did so. If that happens to be the case, my recommendation is to sue. Not just for 10 grand, either. Unfortunately, if you were underage when this happened, your parents had full responsibility over what were supposed to be your funds. Still, they should at least have the common sense to use their own account for such purchases. I mean, this is a person's education we're talking about here! You were saving for years, and now it's gone. Your parents shouldn't just be ashamed, they should give back the money -- and then some.
lol same thing here! apparently our new car is came out of that too.. including my laptop, trip to europe and food!..
**** that dude. that's horse shit. if that truly is your money. file a report that they had taken an unauthorized loan. then write up a contract that it is to be paid in full by a certain date. also add that there is 10% interest compounded daily. that'll get your money back quick but make sure you've got a lawyer.
So kinda like what my parents do. I fed you, clothed you, and sheltered you, I'm allowed to do stupid shit and be an asshole.
AH!! That sucks!! What kind of parents are those?? Mean.
How'd they take out the money, joint account? Return the television and get your money back. Or call the bank and tell them you'd like to launch a fraud investigation. Not so funny when the police show up...

Sue. Sure, they're your parents, but God, being inconsiderate like that. It's your future.
That really ought to be illegal. You get screwed if your parents don't meet their financial aid obligations for your education, so there should be some legal requirement for your parents to meet those obligations.
