Today, I was walking to the movie theatre with my boyfriend, when three guys muscled over and told us to hand over our phones. My boyfriend didn't waste any time pushing past me and running like hell, leaving me in tears and almost having a panic attack. FML

44- I don't consider myself a coward, and yes running is the smart choice after tossing the phones, but I'd make damn sure to keep my wife running Ahead of me, not fending for herself. However, I get the feeling you're just screwing with everyone so I'll stop now. ;)

Good call, because I am just screwing around. Many years ago, I got held up at gunpoint on a date. I did exactly the right thing and we got through it OK. Seriously, I don't know why the boyfriend didn't give the thugs his phone and have the OP give them hers. There's not much else you can realistically do.

There's nothing wrong with choosing not to fight, but there's something seriously messed up with leaving your girlfriend in danger to save your own skin. It's moments like these that show you what a person is really like and if I were you OP, I'd drop him fast.

I hope you had a chat after that, possibly break up, depending on how long you have been dating and what not. Any girl deserves someone better than that, though. If that situation happened to me, I wouldn't let them hurt you. I'd take all the hits and tell the girl to run away. If I was him, I would have at least grabbed your arm and ran with you. No girl deserves to be treated like that.
