This is a robbery

Today, I was walking to the movie theatre with my boyfriend, when three guys muscled over and told us to hand over our phones. My boyfriend didn't waste any time pushing past me and running like hell, leaving me in tears and almost having a panic attack. FML

Aww dude that's horrible. First off dump your bf, and second, all the people who said you deserve it are ass holes.

Having a boyfriend who is a man would also have been useful.

He panicked and lost his good judgement, it happens. I bet he feels really bad about it now.

I guess he just panicked as well, not everyone stays cool in such situations. I'm sure he felt really bad about it afterwards, too.

Your boyfriend is soft. What he did is a clear answer to how much he values you.

Not gonna lie, I imagine Ukrainian muggers would be scary as hell. However, that is no excuse to ditch your poor girlfriend and leave her at the mercy of three robbers.

Yeah. It's a scary thought, but they might not have just stopped at robbery. No real man would leave his defenseless girlfriend in a situation like that. I'm not saying he should have tried to fight them all, but the least he could have done was grabbed her hand instead of pushing her when he ran away. Or he could have stayed with her and handed over their phones. His compliance and mere presence could have deterred any further violence toward his girlfriend.

Shut the **** up. Girls aren't defenseless and the dude couldn't do shit against 3 buff guys. We aren't ******* weak and if you think we are, go die.

Make him buy you a new phone for being such a pussy and running off on you...

Getting mugged is a good time to have a panic attack. You're ex-boyfriend is a survivor, but not a hero. Heroes often end up getting beaten to a pulp.

^ And survivor's often sacrifice those around them when their balls are on the line. :p Which is better in your opinion?

Your boyfriend obviously had only his interests in mind, which isn't a good sign in a relationship. But what's baffling me is that, from what I gathered from the FML, you guys weren't held at gunpoint or threatened with a knife. I would've either given them my phone and just canceled the contract later, or made a huge scene, provided there were other people around. But sure as hell wouldn't ditch my girlfriend.

Better toughen up op, looks like you gotta fight for your man... literally! Did anyone else think of the It's Always Sunny Episode where they get robbed and leave Dee behind with the mugger?
