This is a robbery

Today, I was walking to the movie theatre with my boyfriend, when three guys muscled over and told us to hand over our phones. My boyfriend didn't waste any time pushing past me and running like hell, leaving me in tears and almost having a panic attack. FML

Aww dude that's horrible. First off dump your bf, and second, all the people who said you deserve it are ass holes.

Having a boyfriend who is a man would also have been useful.

Point taken, still a lack of it though since there aren't many knights out there today. :D

"chivalry" - "courteous behavior, especially towards women" Source: dictionary.reference.com Sry for the double posts.

I would fight to my death to protect my girlfriend , but maybe that's because I was raised to always treat women with respect and it's in the Cowboy code . Hopefully your boyfriend is now an exboyfriend.

Time to leave that dumb ass pussy!!!

I hoped you wished up and dumped him. Hopefully, you have phone insurance so that loss can easily be recouped! Me I would put it out on all social media what a coward he was!!

Hey at least you werent in the colorado theater they took your phone but not your life

I'm a bit torn between not voting on this, and putting YDI for not having the street smarts to call out that you were being mugged. It isn't that hard to try and distract someone before running to safety and in today's world there are times when it can be necessary, with the majority of society turning out to be comprised of assholes and everything. And to everyone telling OP to dump her boyfriend for 'not being a man', how about you try finding an average guy willing to take on three (possibly armed) muggers? Is your phone REALLY more valuable than your life? We men aren't the superheroes you keep expecting us to be. We're human beings.

As a woman, I don't expect men to be superheroes. I certainly wouldn't expect my boyfriend to fight three thugs for me. I hope we'd just hand over the phones and BOTH of us would stick around to make sure the other was safe. To push passed someone you care about to save yourself, leaving them there, is an issue about character and selfishness, not about masculinity. By the same token, I would have very little sympathy if the woman ran off to leave her boyfriend to take on three (possibly armed) muggers alone, just to save her own skin. If I did that, I would have a hard time sleeping at night knowing that was the kind of person I was.

I am sure he was thinking, "Run Bitch Run!!!" Next time, you will. Or, you'll at least think to trip has ass. In this situation, it's clearly every man for himself!!
