I don't understand why people automatically assume OP was trying to make her boyfriend jealous, or even that she wanted attention. I've been with my boyfriend for 8 years and we tell each other when someone winks at us or whatever. We do it in a joking way... doesn't bother us, it makes us proud that we each have an attractive partner. Then we laugh about it and say "Well, he/ she can't have you because you're all mine!" and love the hell out of each other.
