Does anyone know what 'blindsided' means in Australia? Here you'd say that he blindsided him BY putting the hair in the drink. This post says it's something he did AFTER he put the hair in the drink. Slightly different so I'm wondering if there's a different meaning to it there.
I thought it meant OP got hit/punched without expecting it.
The first thing I thought of was a car crash but I know that couldn't be what they meant.
Yes, "surprised by" and "car accident" are the only two ways I've heard it. I suspect that #17 is correct, though. I can see how it could be used to mean a punch.
I thought blindsided meant to be surprised by something, that's all I've ever heard it used for. Puts a less violent spin on the fml if that's all OP meant.
Today, in this supposed information age, it's ironic that folks don't just check a dictionary. Oxford, Merriam-Webster and dictionary.com all give good definitions of blindside. FML
It's ok op hazards of the job, once (I work at a ice cream shop) a mom dumped a waffle cone on my face because her scoop was too big, and these people are sober.
i feel sorry for you having to put up with drunks like that at ur work :/
Don't, bartenders know what they signed up for.
Why would anyone buy a drink someone else already had? I've never been at a bar out restaurant and thought, "That lady seems to be enjoying her beer; I'll see if they'll sell it to me."
If he is drunk you shouldn't give him one anyway...

What a jackass. I hope you're okay OP
Tell him that dipping his hair in the drink isn't good enough entertainment to get freebies. Pour the whole drink on his head, and then give him a free one. Now, that's entertainment!
