@everyone who said that being homeless is their fault, I personally know a family that is now on the streets, who used to be one of the most affluent families in the area. The dad got hit by a car crossing the street and was in the hospital in critical condition, he couldn't work. The mom got sick. Horribly sick. She couldn't work either. Their insurance dropped them. By the time the parents got better, they had lost absolutly everything. Couldn't find a job. My family and I took them in.
#16, you're a bitchy snob. Since when is helping out another HUMAN BEING a bad thing? Take your head out of your ass. I think you did a great thing for helping this man out. It must have been gross, but at least you can say you're a decent person.
i feel your pain, i used to work a a coffee shop in Toronto and this one homeless guy kept washing him self in there... i had to clean it up every time... i ******* hate working alone =/
Why would you think you could just kick someone out for being homeless? They have every right to be there- it's not owning property that guarantees rights, it's being a citizen, no matter how upstanding or not. This person locked himself in the bathroom, and if the OP does own the shop, don't you think it would be a little more important to concentrate on the other customers and continuing to operate the business than timing every scruff's potty break who wanders in to the bathroom? It's not as if the owner saw the man and offered bathing services via the restroom. After all, if the bum should have been kicked out for the sake of the other customers, I can only imagine that getting their beverage would still be their first priority. It sucks; I feel bad for the OP, because in all fairness, though a company does have the right to refuse service, the ensuing drama could have been a lot worse, especially considering the possibilities of why exactly this person is homeless.
don't you mean u have a weak gag reflex?
Your dumbass comment made my day. (:
Uhmm, very few homeless people are war vets too disturbed to find the help they need. Almost all of the "war vets" you see holding signs begging for change are draft dodgers that haven't worked since the sixties. On a side note, to believe they are mostly war vets you must be either hopelessly gullible or a brainwashed college drone.

#4 and #5 you both obviously haven't had extended periods of time with the homeless. They gather around my university campus and do nothing but beg, yell, and grab random people for no reason. If you two are so high and mighty wishing this fate upon me because "I don't know their situation" why aren't you two out there personally helping the homeless? When was the last time you let a homeless dude into your house to bathe and gave him a meal? You're no different from everyone else who walks by them without a second glance, so stop pretending you're a better person by "sympathizing".
You think your life sucks, think about how the homeless guy must feel. He has to smell himself every day.
