Today, a resident went missing at our nursing home. When I found him, a man in a blue shirt and red pants, he started yelling at me in confusion. I just thought it was his alzheimers. When I brought him to my administrator, I was told the missing resident was wearing a red shirt and blue pants. Wrong guy. FML

Methinks he's not the one who has alzheimer's.

I would assume he had Alzheimer's too if he was wearing red pants...

If I were that old guy, I wouldn't be able to stop laughing. That would be so awkward-hilarious

lol wow.. way to **** up his day

Um if u worked at the nursing home wouldn't u notice that's not the person, like by his face?!

That's what I was thinking too. While it may be a large nursing home, it still seems pretty odd to me that a nursing home would send out somebody who wouldn't recognize the resident to go find him when he went missing. Seriously, "old man in red shirt and blue pants" isn't very much to go by when you're trying to find someone you've never seen before.

i work in a nursing home and if an elopement risk goes missing, they send all extra staff (kitchen, laundry, house-cleaning, receptionists, CNAs, etc) to search the premises. All we have to go on for the elopement risks are a black and white picture posted in the offices. If a non-elopement risk goes missing, there is nothing to go by besides what we are told.

i volunteered at a nursing home for a while, and it was huge. employees only knew residents from their assigned residences. i was constantly having problems the OP's bc you couldn't tell which residents were completely with it. and sometimes they'd go from cogent to confused in a matter of seconds.

Who the hell wears red pants outside of the Mushroom Kingdom?

...if you're dyslexic, you mix up letters, not colors.

not true. My mom who is dyslexic mixs up mustard and ketchup as well as left and right. Not her numbers or letters. (or colors)

Hopefully the faux-patient had a good sense of humour. In fact, he should thank you, if he was any sort of a good-natured guy he would have got both a good laugh and a good story out of this incident. One doesn't get abducted every day.

Did he also have a red and white striped hat?
