You get up every morning without alarm clocks warning You don’t take the train into the city There’s no noise up above because everyone else has a job And you don’t have to look handsome or pretty But you might get a job so don’t even sob Most of us are working every day The reason we’re all annoyed is because we’re all somehow employed... How did you get this vacation anyway?
See if they’re willing to do the interview before you go on vacation, OP. Otherwise, job>vacation. And to the people saying he can’t possibly afford a vacation after 2 years of being unemployed, remember that just because your country doesn’t have a social security net doesn’t mean other places don’t either. If I get fired I’ll get at least $1500 a month the first two years of being unemployed.
Most aren’t saying this person CAN’T afford a vacation; they’re questioning WHY. It doesn’t matter if he’s getting $1500 a month from unemployment, that’s still no where near enough to be splurging on a week long vacation. Which, being unemployed for two years, is completely unnecessary. Everyone is pointing this out because it’s such an obvious YDI situation.
Who do you work for to have such a luxury?
It doesnt matter who i work for, actually, as the money comes from being a member of an unemployment insurance fund(which pretty much everyone is in Denmark). $1500 is minimum by the way. My girlfriend currently makes less than that as she is a student and we can easily afford to go on vacations. I think people are being extremely hard on OP just because they don’t have the luxury of a vacation themselves.
Not really no, it’s a matter of principle and priorities.
Isn’t it possible that OP’s family paid for the vacation or OP’s spouse?
If so, they are as ignorant and stupid as the OP.
Jobless need a vacation!
Companies often take a while to reply while they wait for applications to come in and only go into the phase of inviting people for interviews once they have a certain amount of applications or once a certain date is met and they think they won't be getting any more applications. YDI for booking a vacation so close to applying for a job. That aside, I don't know what you need a vacation for if you haven't worked for 2 years.
I would love to know how you could afford a vacation when you haven't worked for two years. You need to work on your priorities. An interview comes before vacation, but maybe that's why you been jobless for two years.
The **** are you doing booking a holiday when you've got no job?! People like you are the ones that ruin the ******* economy and make it harder for those wanting a job to actually get one. Take the job, sell the holiday and EARN yourself a break.
Explain the situation and ask if it’s possible to do the interview the day before.

Why would you book a vacation after being jobless for 2 years? How did you have money to do that? You've basically been on vacation for 2 years. YDI, especially if you're dumb enough to choose a vacation over a job.
Uh, the job's more important. It gives you money, which then leads to a roof over your head, food in your belly, and all the materialistic things you think you need to be happy. You might lose the money spent on your vacation, but that's kinda your fault for going the non-refundable route.
