Never make that sort of decision after one or two conversations. Some guys take several weeks before they're comfortable enough to relax and be themselves around you. If you have gone on several dates and nothing has changed and no real personality has peeked out, or if he's done something to offend you and make you actively dislike him, then break up. But...it's not unusual for a guy to be nervous about a girl he likes and, in trying not to embarrass himself, comes off as boring, too quiet, etc. Sometimes they are just a lump of boring nothing. Sometimes they're a good guy who is just a little overwhelmed by dating you and needs a few smiles to come out of their shell and wow you. YDI if you are jumping to this conclusion after talking to a guy ONCE, especially after being so interested for so long.
