Hey at least his financial game is good. Happy for you guys
Built on money more than love? Still did you say yes?
They've been together for 5 years. Should they scrap it all for one (likely humorously intended) quip?
Atleast he is a thinker :)
Nooooot really, he shouldn't have said that.
You americans are weird... five years of dating is considered very normal here in europe, the finally seems very out of place.
I am European and I don't agree. 5 years of dating is a long time. It's nice to know if there is a commitment to the relationship other than "yeah we're hanging out for the duration " 2c.
But what's wrong with waiting? IMHO, a lot of divorces could be prevented if couples waited until the infatuation wore off before making a legal commitment. People in the throes of puppy love are not the best judges of how compatible and supportive they and their partners will be when the car breaks down, the electricity's about to be shut off, or any other crisis takes place. It might take five or more years for that blind lust to wear off enough to have a realistic assessment of your partner's probable abilities as a spouse.
In response to #78... Truer words have never been said about marriage.
Nerves? I actually considered the benefits of marriage to be the only modern reason for it considering you no longer need to buy a wife and have her bare you sons for farm work, linage and all that rubbish, or religious reasons. Congratulations though!
you said "cray-cray" ; that's an automated down vote on here .
Such a romantic! Lol ::facepalm::
Well shit, if that isn't romance then I don't know what is.
im sure he was probably trying to be funny. i know ive said some dumb things to lighten moods in my life!
I'm assuming you can tell whether he is actually serious after 5 years together? I doubt that is his only reason. So when's the wedding?
