Today, after living in my apartment for nearly a year, I heard my neighbor having a violent toilet session. Now I realize he's always been able to hear the wrath of my bowels too. We wave at each other every day. FML

Hi. Some of your comments really made me laugh! So, it surprised me I heard him because I've never heard anything other than a vacuum or water in the pipes. This just made me aware he can probably hear a lot more than I previously thought.. Luckily I don't have loud bathroom trips often. I definitely regretted the super loud fart I ripped about 5 minutes prior to hearing him though. :p Anyway, neighbor acts cool so all is well!

If he hasn't said anything, he probably doesn't give a shit. If you're still concerned play some music while you release your fury.

At least you guys have something in common.

That's why I stopped living in apts 30 yrs ago! No privacy!

It must be nice to live in a house or wherever you live now. However, not everyone has the funds/means to just stop living in an apartment. I hate living in my apartment but right now it's all I can afford and even then it's expensive so I know I won't be in my own house yet anytime soon. But you are right about the privacy thing. The walls are really thin and I can hear the guy upstairs, the laundry room and anyone in it, and the guy next door when they do anything. Even just talking.

You know you can rent houses just like you can rent apartments. A lot can be rented to own. I've seen some pretty nice ones for 300-700 a month, which is typically what one pays for an apartment. I'm almost done with my college degree and am looking for the house of my dreams. and its highly possible, I work very hard to put my dreams im motion, and I don't think the person above you meant any offense. We just like our privacy, quietness, and something we can make our own.

Hahaha... U guys should hangout more often, u never know what could it lead to... Lol

I know the feel, in our apartment the walls and ceiling and floor are so thin you can hear every conversation, every action, every noise from the apartments around you. Seriously awkward. Only difference is none of our neighbors talk to each other and we don't associate with anyone we don't know. Ha

Well you shouldn't worry if you're neighbor's okay with it.

By violent, do you mean too loose or constipated? Either way, a change in diets might help.
