I work in IVF, and many of our patients who are trying to conceive actually do go on the pill, as it stimulates a cycle, then they stop taking it abruptly and either try to fall pregnant via IVF or naturally depending on the method they are using that cycle. It works quite well. However it does not sound like this was the ladies intention (most people cant wrap their heads around an oral contraceptive as enhancing chances of pregnancy as part of a controlled program) and she is not skipping tablets like this method requires.
I hope your going to be the one staying home with the baby. She's has no reason being around a child by her self for any period of time.
