how is this fml. as an employee u r supposed to do work that ur boss delegates to u. that is basic management principle. thats how all companies and government run. and its not like u r doing ur boss' personal chores. u r serving ur companys interest, for which u r hired and for which u will be appraised.
When you are in charge of someone you have tasks to acomplish. Your job is to make sure they get done, and done properly. If all the work is getting done. Then shes doing her job. As long as shes not overworking you, do your job and get promoted. One thing to be wary of is if she is giving you her tasks, and you comlain you might find that there is not enough work for you to continue to have a job there.
I don't see the problem here. You get a list of tasks, you do them and that's it. As long as you're getting paid the agreed salary and working the agreed number of hours, I don't see a reason why you should care.
The problem #39, is that if the Boss is getting paid a bigger salary to be doing these tasks that Op is getting paid less to do, then Op is getting the short end of the corporate stick. Also, there's this thing called business ethics. Boss needs to stop leeching off of someone else, making big bucks for crap that boss isn't even doing. That's dishonest and it's a big problem. Op could be the Boss, doing the Boss tasks and making the boss money.
You need to get yourself promoted to her job!
yeah one of my bosses did this to me and would never promote me because of it. word of advice stop doing their job. if you aren't paid the same dont do their tasks. once I stopped doing his tasks he got fired because he would end up staying until 9pm doing an inventory count when I could do it in 2 hours and leave at my scheduled 2:30pm time. he couldn't do his own job but wanted the paycheck. just have a talk with her and say someone has told me that the list you give to me is not actually the duties in my job description. I'm concerned that I am performing jobs above my paygrade and would like a list of my actual tasks. if she doesn't give them to you then report to hr.
If you don't know your own job it's definitely your own fault ?
It sucks, yeah. But think of it this way, once it comes time for a management position, youre set and qualified to do the task. That is, if you stick around.
They're an idiot for telling you lol .
yeah i wondered why did she tell OP?
that's when you go to hr

Report her to her boss or to HR. Just make sure you have hard evidence and not just your coworker's word
