Couldn't resist commenting on the whole practicing/practising thing... In British English, practicing is used for professions, for example, practicing law or medicine. Practising is used when you do something over and over to get better at it. So, in this case, it should be practising, but then again, the OP is probably from America, which might not distinguish between the two. OP: Don't worry about it too much - I would be over the moon if a guy played a song for me, even if I ended up with a bleeding cheek.
Actually in British English "practise" is the verb and "practice" is the noun. In American English "practice" is used for both. OP, feel sorry for you but slightly more sorry for your girlfriend. She was after all hit in the face by a snapping guitar string!
How hard were you strumming?? It's sounds like a pretty violent love song.
Am I the only girl here who would find a boy playing a song for me embarrassing, awkward and somewhat pretentious? Well, ****...
Think that about sums everything up better than your song would.
Let this be a lesson to you. Don't let your girlfriend give you head while you're playing the guitar.

How close was your girlfriend to your guitar? Was she making out with it? I don't see how a string would have hit her unless she was right next to it.
My string just broke on Monday. Oh wait...its wednesday...Maybe I should buy new strings. By the way I know how you feel about this. Its tough being a sexy musician.
