The world these days. As technology gets smarter, people get dumber. Technology is robbing people of common sense and the decency to help others now days. It's a miracle how only a minority of the people that still have common sense are still living. Heck, most of them are on FML.
There is a psychological phenom that occurs when people in a large group don't take action, because they all expect someone else to step up. People are actually more likely to take action when they are in a small group or by themselves. It sounds like OP was victimized by this phenom. I hope you are okay, and that there will be no negative long term effects from your accident.
I had a similar thing happen when I was in a bad car accident. I had to call 911 and do scene control and first aid until all the sirens showed up and I went into shock. I was ready to deck the people taking pictures with their phones. No one came and helped.
Mine was in Canada for the person who said this type of thing wouldn't happen here.
76- It happens everywhere. I'm a volunteer emergency responder, and I've seen it most every time the group's large, no one wants to step up and be the center of attention in case they screw it up, or so it seems at least. In my head, I call them "The Gawk Squad", cause that's all they do: Stand there and stare. Really annoying when 20 people beat you to a scene and yet you're the first to even pick up a damn phone or Do something. So yes, I believe you completely that you got to experience that too. And I'm sorry for that as well. :p *Shrugs*
That is messed up...
.
After Twittering, Facebooking, Flickring, Instagraming and blogging about the accident, when do expect these people to have time to cater to your needy whims?
78- *Punches you in the shoulder* Smart ass. ;P
Why are you flirting with perdix?
they probably thought you were ok and that someone else had called. sux no one asked anything. but be thankful you were able to call yourself and not knock unconscious
Sorry to hear that. :( Someone could've at least tried to look like they cared instead of taking pictures and driving off.

Is there such thing as a bad Samaritan?
I assume you're okay because you posted but people should seriously help first. It's ridiculous that they would take pics. I assume any of them in the same position would want someone to come to their aid.
