Today, after spending a lot of money on photo shoots to build up my portfolio, I finally got an offer from a modelling agency. I ran outside to tell my parents, only for my brother to hurl an iced snowball straight into my face. I now have a huge gash over my cheek and nose. FML

This is definitely going to affect your contract...

Oh, are we saying obvious things? Umm I can name a few... -We don't breathe underwater -Getting hit in the balls hurts -Ice is cold -Fire burns you -Water hydrates you -Food cures hunger

Why do people just run without paying attention? Someone needs a helmet for times like this. Or pretty much anytime they get out of bed.

#31 -- Running wasn't the problem; the brother throwing the ice ball was the problem. Are you suggesting OP (and everyone?) should go through life wearing a full-face helment in case of accidents or malice, even just to enter their own yard?

People that cannot run without getting hurt need protection. You have to pay attention to the world around you.

That's probably what the people in the WTC should've done then, huh?

You're talking like OP busted her face because she tripped on something. You need to read the FML again - her BROTHER being a total asshat is the problem, not her own clumsiness. How the hell was she supposed to expect that?

50 - So by your logic, those who get shot are at fault for not running well enough? Sounds pretty ******* stupid to me.

Wow. Hopefully they take you back by the time you're healed?

It's not really that simple. The agency would have to pay someone to do the photoshopping, and why do that when they can hire someone else who doesn't need it? Once it heals up it probably won't be as hard to cover, but for now, an open cut is probably a deal breaker for poor OP getting this job.

#40, on the one hand, sure. But think of it this way: One's face is a prime asset in a modeling career. If OP were, say, an athlete whose knee was injured by the ice ball, or an aspiring surgeon or electrician or massage therapist or whatever whose hand was damaged by it, would you disparage their reaction? This injury is a setback for a career in which she's already invested a lot.

You're young, it'll heal and you'll never know!

That'll heal I'm sure. Congrats on the offer!

Plot your revenge make something hit him in the nono area so hard he will never do something like that again. and this is coming from a guy so you have permission to do so.

Saying "nono area" entails immediate revocation of ones man card . Sorry OP, you don't have permission after all.
