#116, I'm sorry for what happened to you -- you're right, nobody should have to go through that, and it must have really sucked. It's good that you're alive. But OP didn't deserve her injury any more than you deserved your more serious one, and her marking from it isn't necessarily temporary either ("huge gash" would tend to suggest it isn't, though that may well have been an exaggeration). She should certainly be thankful for what she has -- we all should -- but I don't see why this would be a YDI situation.

A 16 year old girl isn't trying to get into a very difficult line of work. This woman was. And due to the possibility of, oh I don't know, scars, I wouldn't be surprised if her brother just screwed her chances. I feel bad for that 16 year old, but she can recover from her injuries. OP might not recover from this and get the opportunity.

Very mature, playing the "I have it worse than you, so your problems are worth less" game. As it's been said, OP doesn't deserve what happened to her, nor would anyone else! And also, anyone who has sustained even worse injuries could say the same to you; would you be okay with that since you don't have it as bad as them? I doubt it. Shit happens to everyone and everyone has a right to be upset about it, whether or not it's that bad or otherwise, but that doesn't allow us to invalidate each other's problems. If you were looking for sympathy with your post, you're sure as hell not getting it from me since you've decided to act so immature and unsympathetic.

116, why does she deserve it? Don't be hateful, that sucks what happened to you but OP didn't cause it so don't be bitter towards her. She is trying to be a model, of course she is gonna worry about something like this.
