Today, after spending thousands of dollars and several years pursuing a higher education so I could get a high paying job doing something that requires skill and brainpower, I finally got my first job offer after months of searching. I will be cleaning houses. FML

Today, I happily went to an interview after job searching for months. I learned a large part of my job would be cleaning the toilets. Every. Single. Hour. I used to lecture at a university until budget cuts happened. FML

Today, after 8 years in exceptionally difficult veterinarian classes which put me $200,000 in debt, and 7 months of job searching, I finally got a job. I will be inspecting feces for worms while making minimum wage. FML

Today, after a year of unemployment due to my industry shutdown, I finally got a job offer. It involves overseas travel. After being cooped up a year, I'm thrilled! My boyfriend's mother is willing to pay my rent and bills for me to stay home. FML

Today, after spending 8 months and $11,000 on school, I was denied a job in my chosen career field. They told me they decided to go with someone with more experience. So who got the job? One of my classmates. This is her first job. EVER. FML

ydi for thinking college was your golden ticket. if you have a pointless degree an no internships you cant expect anything to just fall in your lap. Everyone has a degree these days, need other things to stand out from the crowd.

People need to stop assuming just because they get a degree, they are instantly entitled to a job paying a hundred grand a year right out of college.

welcome to real life. :) stick at it though, you never know when a better opportunity will come along, or what you can make of the opportunity you've been given. you could also be unemployed... the cup is at least half full. ;)

I'll bet a lot of money that you majored in something useless like psychology, philosophy or theater. get a business, engineering or health field degree and you'll get a job.
