I don't think my boyfriend would ever spend that much money on me and frankly, I don't want him to. $400 is way too much for valentine's day! And if you haven't even exchanged "i love you's", then $400 is just ridiculous. I think it's a good lesson to learn from though. Take things a little slower, don't get attached so fast. Hope you kept the receipt, and better luck next time :]
OMG why would you spend $400 on someone for Valentine's day, especially if you're not married to them?
I blew well over $400 on a Valentine's gift... but then I'm loaded.
I'm Ron Burgundy?
sounds like she's got a point how long have you been together? i can't remember the last time i spent more than $20 on a girl. then again, i have a tendency to mess up after the first date, but oh well :)
Not an fml. Just return the stuff. Problem solved. Meet someone who will appreciate the attention.

Spending that much proves that you ARE too attached. Or too rich, in which case she's a fool for not hanging on :P
Depends how long he's been in the relationship. $400 is an awful lot to be spending on someone you've been seeing for less than a year.
