hmmmmm
if everybody is supposed to be liberal enough to accept gays, then why can't gays be liberal enough to act like like its normal and just live? why do they insist on rubbing everyone's noses in their "uniqueness". get over yourselves and just live live your ******* lives. to hell with anybody that doesn't like it, family included!
Nobody has to be "liberal enough" to accept it. I don't know where you live but I'm in a country where we are all supposed to be allowed to have our own opinions about things. We don't have to accept stuff just because other people think it's okay. However I will agree with what I think your main point was. If gays think that it's acceptable then they should just live their lives and stop trying to make sure everyone else knows and accepts it. If they think they're "liberal" and accepting of all things then why aren't they "liberal" enough to accept that some other people disagree. By definition if you're "liberal" you're supposed to be open to different ideas, yet they're not open to ideas that go against what they think.
There's a difference between accepting and not agreeing. Just because you don't personally agree with someone, doesn't mean you can't accept that they think differently to you. Especially if what they are thinking/doing isn't going to personally affect you.
exactly
Why does this suck? If you're actually gay then it's just a part of who you are, like having brown hair or an interest in Geography. You shouldn't need your parents to have a fit at you, or throw you a coming-out party. If the fact that you didn't get any major attention from them over this is such a big issue for you, do you think maybe you're just an attention *****?
Should've just woke up and realized that you only think you're gay because you have some mental problems that you should seek psychological help for. It wasn't very long ago that people knew that's all it was. I've known several people who thought they were gay and not a single one of them didn't have some kind of bad experience in the past like their parents not caring about them or maybe something happened that made them not trust the opposite gender (rape as one possible example). Sounds like the first one in this case. Even the FML itself has the explanation for those who are smart enough to notice. If the parents cared about them they wouldn't be confused about who they are.
Sounds like they've known you're gay for quite some time - probably longer than you have. Much better coming out experience than most of my gay friends had
LMFAO.
Haha, so your mother thinks homosexuality is a disease, eh? Kidding, but maybe its a good thing?
Oh my God, you must be Daffyd! The only gay in the village.

hahah I guess they already knew!
they could have taken it so much worse. while not exactly supportive, they didn't scream at you to leave, either. be grateful you were able to get it off your chest, and congrats!
