Today, as a bartender was carding my friends, I excitedly asked if he was going to card me. The guy gave me a blank stare before finally replying, "Look, lady, I don't have time to stroke some middle-aged woman's ego." I asked because it was my birthday. I just turned twenty-one. FML

Why were you excited to get carded? In Austria, alcoholic drinks are legal at the age of 16 or 18 (depending on the percentage of alcohol - 12% = 18), so it's not like you were excited because it was the first day you were allowed to drink. And btw. what was the name of that bar?

In the US the legal drinking age is 21.

lol, which bar was that? I've not been carded for 2 years, and im couple of years younger than you ^^ Btw just to let yall know.. The legal age for drinking alcohol is 16 in Vienna, so actually that was a compliment.. If i was 21 i wouldnt like to be carded here xD

Yes, but only alcohol with less than 12%! And only in some european countries.

I would of punched him in te face, what a bitchhh!

In Vienna it's legal to buy any alcohol with 16. There are some supermarkets who refuse to sell it to people under 18 (who cares why...) but on the other hand there are also some who don't verify your age at all.

It really doesn't matter how you look, his comment was uncalled for and rude. If he worked for me, that'd be a first and final, if not grounds for immediate termination.
