Today, as a last resort for my back problems, I tried acupuncture. After the needles were placed and the doctor had left, I couldn't move for 30 minutes. I had a panic attack. FML

So OP, how does it feel to get poked by paralyzing needles?

smoke a little grow relax listen to music I know your pain I'm a disabled vet with severe back problems

I would have laughed if you said "needles to say."

Ive had acupuncture multiple times and never been afraid to not move. It's supposed to be relaxing not terrifying. didn't they check on you to make sure your ok?...there are acupuncturists who have other ways to solve back problems that don't involve needles...

I would find this so scary and try something easier like a massage

I love acupuncture. You just have to calm your mind before you go in. Relax and take a nap. I have a bad back also and you should look into getting a Theracane and the trigger point therapy book. I use to have shoulder pain all the time but after reading the book and using the cane it's reduced the pain because I'm able to work out the knots. Try it. I'm sure you'll be happy. And go back to acupuncture again and just take a nap.

I don't think if ever actually try that. Doesn't sound like too much fun. Or is it actually really good for you?

What is it with so many people having panic attacks?? Are we all really THAT wound up and stressed out that our brains and bodies literally break down in the most inopportune and/or mundane times? Gah, have a glass of wine and chill out!

Did it work? I sure hope you don't have to have an MRI that's worse
