This isn't an FML. This is a win for everyone.
We did the same thing in my physics class when I was in high school. Despite the sound being "impossible" to hear 5 of us ended up on the ground in tears with hearing problems that lasted months. Just because most people can't hear it doesn't mean everyone can't
u shouldnt feel bad. its her problem that she lied.
You, sir, are the reason why there are so many idiots running around claiming to know exactly what is and isn't "possible." You give science a bad name, and it's bad enough that you can find a job misleading students; I'm only thankful that some thoughtful individuals never gave you the chance to go into industry. For your information, the "audible range" is a statistical characteristic of the human population, NOT a hard-and-fast physical limitation. I might even grant that the girl was most likely just making it up, but to claim that hearing higher frequencies is impossible is not only misleading, but flat out wrong. I have a friend who can hear significantly outside the audible range. I tested it scientifically (without any wild conjectures about what was possible or impossible), using a double-blind experiment.
the brat shout have kept her mouth shut
one of my teachers continously bitches that I'm retarded and the most annoying person on earth, not in a joking tone.. these are usually followed by undeserved detentions. Yeah, I get shit about it, getting teased about being a dog is nothing
This isn't your fault, you just have a immature class
when my physics teacher did that my whole class could hear the sound he couldnt. HE called us dogs. jokingly, of course. i think.

She was probably lying and trying to sound superior if she claimed she could hear frequencies that are in dog-range, so I guess she got what was coming to her.
Actually what he said was not wrong. If she is claiming to hear it, then she deserves to be picked on, especially when it is impossible for her to have heard it. The classmates were wrong, but the OP wasn't
