Today, as a physics teacher, I was testing a class to see how high a sound frequency they could hear. One girl claimed she could hear the sound even though it was physically impossible. Without thinking, I replied "Only dogs can hear this frequency." Needless to say, she was picked on all day. FML

She was probably lying and trying to sound superior if she claimed she could hear frequencies that are in dog-range, so I guess she got what was coming to her.

Actually what he said was not wrong. If she is claiming to hear it, then she deserves to be picked on, especially when it is impossible for her to have heard it. The classmates were wrong, but the OP wasn't

if it's needless to say, don't say it. if you need to say it, don't say it's needless to say.

For a physic teacher your an idiot, some people like musicians or blinds can hear lower/higher frequencies than the average 20hz-20khz. I've had an auditory test once I can hear from 15hz to 26khz... My whole family are multiple generation musicians though...

hahaa I could see my physics teacher saying sunthing like this

its nt technically his fault u guys its mostly the immature students fault he is just stating a true fact

How is this an fml? Nothing happened to u!

Op, being a physics teacher I'd expect you know that anything is possible.. I can only audibly hear up to a certain frequency but when you get a little higher I can still feel the difference in pressure... Besides, have you ever watched stan lees super humans? They discover anomalies every episode...

No you guys this is true I have a cell phone that makes the same frequency as a cat whistle and lol the teachers cant hear it but the students can its a special ringtone that only people with smaller ears can hear. I hav small ears.

I can hear and feel very very high frequency sounds like that. ...woof? :P
