Today, as I started my car, I heard the most horrific sounds coming from the engine. When I lifted the hood I realized I'd found my son's cat. FML

Hey! OP here! the cat actually was wrapped around the Serpentine belt! No.it did not survive, and my car is in the shop, being cleaned out with a new belt. Sad thing my son was in the car, he kept saying Mommy! what is it?! The cat has been lost, I actually hadn't drove my car for a couple of days so I'm not sure how long it was actually in there. I am surprised how.many people this has happened to, glad it wasnt just me!

Are you sure it didn't just go to live on a farm, op?

So who wants to be the one to break it to 1.. I don't have the heart

For those who don't know cats are limber and can fit into some pretty right spots. I've cleaned worse out from cars.

Today, I was playing around in this big metal thing to see what it was. Suddenly, I heard a sputtering noise and felt agonizing burns and scratching all over my body. I lost one of my lives to it and still don't know what it is. FML

Oh my god... :( Poor kitty. My parents had three cats when I was younger and they were never allowed outside since my mom had a kitten as a young girl and she got out one day and was flattened by a truck... Needless to say, some cats should really be kept inside for safety... And after my cats all passed, we just got a puppy instead. Hope your son takes the news well, OP! And maybe a new kitty will help - but keep an eye on this one if you ever let it out!

we are getting a new Kitty! we actually can't have indoor pets due to allergies of my twins :( I'm a little hesitant to get another. he keeps asking where the cat is :/

My husband opened the hood of his truck and a squirrel leaped out and nearly hit his face. We found it was storing acorns and leaves on the right hand side of the engine. So cats arent the only animal to hide there.

It happened to my boyfriend's cat but thankfully it was only his tail and the cat survived. His tail had to be amputated so now it's just a stump. We call him our Siamese Bobcat.

I just hit the lock button on my keys a few times so the horn honks,we have cats that sleep under the hood because the engine is warm for them when I get home from work specially when it's cold outside
