People shouldn't get handicapped placards just because they are fat, just because they are old, or just because they are fat AND old. In all of those cases, the extra walking will do them some good!
Some people speak before thinking...and this is a case of it...
And you'd be an idiot for assuming that her being fat is the disability that qualified her for a parking placard.
Being overweight is not a disability, unless maybe the person has some sort of glandular problem that prevents them from losing weight. Although, their doctor probably has them on a strict diet and they are not following it. I did see one time, parking spaces only for pregnant women in addition to handicapped spaces at a huge mall in a bigger city. Even though pregnancy is also not a disability, I still thought that was kind of cool. Being 9 months pregnant and walking a mile just to walk around more is not fun. Anyway, I hope you told her off OP. Some people are so "entitled" it's not even funny.
I've had the same thing happen many times OP. Apparently my beautiful, well dressed 18 year old, (totally wheelchair bound) daughter is not disabled enough for their liking either. I think they are just pissed because we beat them to the parking spot. I think the problem is they seem to hand out more disabled parking permits these days than there is disabled parking spots ;)
Most times the obese people did it to themselves and should be made to park at the back of the parking area and do jumping jacks all the to the door, few actually have something wrong with them that make it hard if not impossible to lose weight.
Granted some people have medical conditions that cause obesity, but 9 times out of 10, if I see you waddle 500 ft. to grab a mobility scooter, and then proceed to eat half of your groceries before you pay for them or even make it to the parking lot, you don't need a handicap spot... You need to park your ass to the back of the lot
So, based on all these comments, I have to ask - if the bitch wasn't fat, would you still have a problem with her behavior? Basing it solely on her weight just makes you look bad. I don't condone her behavior regardless of her weight, and I don't think people should be allowed to use motorized scooters just because they're fat (unless they're also disabled), but...yeah. She was a bitch either way, OP. Sorry. :(
Pretty sure it wouldn't matter what size the woman was, if she was bitching someone out in a wheelchair for taking handicapped spot, she'd still be a bitch. It's nice to say "don't be quick to judge" but when people behave poorly, they open themselves up to judgement... no matter what their weight might be.
You Should smack the Sh!t out of her with your wheelchair -.-
