Well you think about it the apple is always at the root of all evil. It was the fruit that eve ate in the garden of Eden and it is the evil fruit that fairy tales poison. It is the favoured fruit of Aphrodite goddess of love but then she was known for being evil. So listen to the guy he has dire warnings.

Fruits, especially apples, are also interpreted as fertility symbols. Snow white is about the cycle of going from girlhood to womanhood. It has nothing to do with women being evil. There are many ways to read the tale and take away that the queen isn't even evil...and that Snow White turns into the queen after she awakes from her slumber.
