My cousin's wife is Greek and she once went to a restaurant and they were talking shit about her in Greek, saying she was fat, stupid, etc, thinking she didn't speak it. So she ordered a bunch of complicated orders and once they were gathered in front of her and it was time to pay, she looked them dead in the eyes, and in fluent Greek reamed them a new one, until they were well and truly chagrined. Then she turned and walked out without any of the food and never went back again. Moral of the story: Bitch them out in Chinese like a boss, OP.
It seems to have cut off the end of my post. "Bitch them out in Chinese like a boss."
well, I see the end here on my end...
Apparently it cut off the end in the second comment, since you forgot the ", OP".
I've seen a similar post at Quora, except it was Italian, and the girl actually talked to the people making fun of her. I don't remember exactly how she wrote it since it was a couple months ago, but she was a real badass.
Go up to them and ask to see your worksheet in English and then as they give it to you say "Thank you very much" in Cantonese/Mandarin or whichever language they were speaking and walk away
what were they saying?
If they do it again you should respond in Chinese with something to the extent of, "I may make some stupid mistakes, but at least I am not mean!"
Hey good for you, for standing up to racial stereotypes.
So report them to their superior. The point of being a tutor is to help people not laugh at them.
Why are you putting up with that? Tell a supervisor or reveal to them you can understand them and give them what for. Don't stand for it, OP.
I'm a little confused... why would your tutors assume that a Chinese person, in Hong Kong, would not understand Chinese?
Maybe he doesn't look like chinese.
I'm guessing OP is an international school student?
Rude !!!!

This is the part when you start speaking Chinese to them.
That's when you take your money and get out.
