The first few countries to offer aid to America were REJECTED because your government was TOO SLOW to realize the severity of Hurricane Katrina. Even after, some aide was rejected due to political issues against the country offering (example: Venezuela). The hurricane managed to wreak so much havoc because you guys were TOO CHEAP to build proper sufficient levees which were promised by your American Government in 1965. Yet, there were over A HUNDRED MILES of damage to the levees. Instead of paying to stabalize the levees for millions, you ended up in billions of dollars in damage. Millions and millions of dollars and aide were given to US for America even though the USA is relatively financially stable compared to Haiti, one of the poorest nations in the world. The death toll in Katrina was in the thousands. Haiti? HUNDREDS of thousands. Not meaning offense to Americans in general but I hate egocentric people and America seems to have many of them.

okay sarah89, lets get something straight i made it clear that i wasnt completely against the whole haiti thing. now if you think im not a caring person just because i have a certain belief, than thats ridiculous. my belief is that we need to help our own country before we help the others, i know a lot of people that agree with my belief. and just because i believe that doesnt mean im ignorant, selfish, or uncaring. after all, this is america and we are entitled to free speech and we are able to voice our own opinions, however all that is going completely down hill. just get your facts straight before you go and judge someone. k? good. if we help our own country first, then i could careless if we help others. just we come first. plus, haiti is a very poor country and it is a tragic about what happened but, what makes you think we can help them? america had always been about helping people, before our own. its just time to realize that we have struggles in our own country that we need to fix.

ok so for all the people that are saying that we should help haiti till we help the people that live in the us maybe you should look up something online one day and see that we have a lot of help out there for homeless and jobless people all they need to do is look and then there was a lil war that happened in 1775 called the revolutionary war some very nice people called France came over and gave us a hand now from what your saying they shouldnt have done that because they didnt know us and if they had not come to help us when they did then the usa wouldnt be here and we wouldnt be able to help all the people we do everyday so maybe just maybe you should think about all the people that have helped the us whenwe needed before you say we shouldnt go and help them. you never know maybe just maybe when all of this is over haiti will go on to do something great.

at our school there are about twelve cups with the name of a song on each we donate to our favourite and the three songs with re most donations are played the following day all proceeds got to haiti
