I reckon she knew all along and felt like being an asshole today. People do that. To me, a lot
You, out. Now.
I was waiting to see when this comment will take place. So far, I believe this is the farthest an fml that has to do with shit lasted without it... #15: a new record indeed.
If she wanted it so badly she should have searched for it...ugh people these days sorry OP
For all we know, she might've been extremely poor and cannot afford new diapers. I think the commenters should keep and open mind and not emphasize how "disgusting" this woman was.
I would think that if someone is so strapped they can't afford to replace one diaper they should keep up with it better.
how does someone forget they have a shitty diaper in their purse?! sorry op, this is gross
Couldn't this have been prevented by just giving her the trash bags and politely telling her that she could look through them to see if the diaper was in one of them? The way you worded that FML, it doesn't appear that she forced you to do the job yourself, and it wouldn't have been impolite or unexpected for a customer to go look for their lost possessions themselves.
I am in HR for a large company and if a customer said they left something and one of my employees had trashed it, they would be expected to find it. Throwing it away wouldn't have been wrong but we can't have customers going through our trash.
#56, I can understand this approach had it been a phone or jewelry perhaps but when a customer leaves waste behind or any other thing containing bodily fluids, then I do not think that it is ok to make the employee dig & search through trash for such an item. That's very unsanitary and disgusting.
Today, I lost my cloth diper and realised it had been thrown away. There were no adult sized ones left in the shop, so I had to retrieve this one. After a helpful customer offered to look though the bin, I realised it was in my bag. FML
Haha I hope this is written with nothing but sarcasm and mocking even
26, you do realize that the cloth diaper was for a baby and not the adult right? Hence the diaper bag.
sucks you put in the effort to help find a dirty diaper..

Ew I would have told her to just get a new one.
Look on the bright side -- you didn't end up finding a used cloth diaper when you were looking through a bunch of trash.
