Today, I brought my daughter to work with me. When we walked in, a client was blowing up at my boss, all because as my boss was walking past his storage unit, he glanced in and was about to compliment how neat it was. After my boss left, I had to deal with the aftermath, which left my daughter terrified of this man. FML

Today, my boss pulled me aside to chastise me for being "off task" because I was chatting with a co-worker while working on a project. She then spent a half hour chatting with the same person about what daycare she should go to for her new baby. FML

Today, my boss called me into her office to tell me I needed to mind my own business and not question everything my newest co-worker does. Yesterday, I stopped the new girl from giving $6,000 to the wrong person. I was fired on the spot. The new girl was promoted into my job. FML

Today, I handed a written complaint to a shop manager about an employee who had used foul language to my teenage daughter. I then watched as he took the complaint to the employee in question, they read it together, laughed, then the manager tore it in half and threw it in the bin. FML

Moral of the story: be careful who you talk to. Or, better yet, trust nobody. Still, YDI. People who text all day under their desks instead of actually doing their job seriously irk me.

Rule #1 - When you are being PAID to work, please work. Rule #2 - Never, ever gossip at work with anybody, especially about the boss. It will always backfire even if it is an employee you think you can trust. But, yeah, texting at work, come on?

I totally agree with the others that you very much so deserved this one. I am guilty at texting at work, so I am not going to yell at you for doing that......BUT you have no right to bitch for getting in trouble for doing so. If your boss made that much of a deal about you texting, you have either gotten in trouble for it before or your boss has made it pretty clear they don't want people texting while at work.
