For those of you who are wondering, I'm 17 and I work at Forever 21. I asked the two girls if they needed any help and they said, "Umm.. We don't want YOUR help." I said, "Excuse me?" They said, "OMG WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE? WE DON'T WANT YOUR HELP! CAN WE GET SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP US?" At that point a manager came over to see what the problem was and the girls said, "We don't want her help. She doesn't even have a thigh gap. Why does she even work here?" Not wanting to do anything stupid and lose my job, I walked away. The two girls had to have been only a year or two younger than me. Plot twist: THEY DIDN'T HAVE FREAKING THIGH GAPS! I can't explain to y'all how much that irked me. The whole thing was just stupid. I really like working at Forever 21, though, so I'm glad I didn't do anything to jeopardize that. Well, thank you all for the supportive comments! They were fun to read. (: I hope y'all have a great night/day!

I know what you meant by "thigh gap", but I really didn't know it was a thing people actually wanted :S The best thing is to do the best out of whatever you have. I have seen girls with full hips and big butts and girls with tiny hips and small butt - believe it or not: anything can be beautiful. Those girls sound like they would've cut of a finger if a beauty magazine said it was "in".

It's when the upper part of your legs/thighs do not touch each other and thus have a "gap" in between. Some people think you have to be incredibly skinny to have one, but it's just hip shape, posture, or how your body is built that decides if you have one
I still don't get it. Widen your stance. Thighs don't touch. Narrow stance. Thighs touch now. You would have to be obviously overweight for it to be impossible to stand without your thighs touching, I would think, I mean **** your hip and it alters everything. Are we talking like, if you're standing straight at full height with both feet parallel, arms at sides, the doctor wants to measure you posture? Is there a standardized thigh gap seeking pose? I continue to not understand this idea.
