Today, at work, two teenage girls caused a huge scene and told me to get lost, after I asked if they needed any help. Their reasoning: they didn't want to be helped by "someone who doesn't have a thigh gap." FML

For those of you who are wondering, I'm 17 and I work at Forever 21. I asked the two girls if they needed any help and they said, "Umm.. We don't want YOUR help." I said, "Excuse me?" They said, "OMG WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE? WE DON'T WANT YOUR HELP! CAN WE GET SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP US?" At that point a manager came over to see what the problem was and the girls said, "We don't want her help. She doesn't even have a thigh gap. Why does she even work here?" Not wanting to do anything stupid and lose my job, I walked away. The two girls had to have been only a year or two younger than me. Plot twist: THEY DIDN'T HAVE FREAKING THIGH GAPS! I can't explain to y'all how much that irked me. The whole thing was just stupid. I really like working at Forever 21, though, so I'm glad I didn't do anything to jeopardize that. Well, thank you all for the supportive comments! They were fun to read. (: I hope y'all have a great night/day!

That's just rude. A thigh gap doesn't say anything about a persons personality. I would have said: now I don't wanna help two immature snobs.

The really sad thing is that they not only made themselves look incredibly insensitive and rude but also that they are completely uneducated, considering thigh gaps have more to do with bone structure and posture (mainly the position of the hips - by pushing the waist backwards and bending slightly forward) more than they have to do with weight (unless you are "overweight" in which case weight would be one of the larger factors but still thigh gaps have nothing to do with beauty or a comfortable weight).

I am so sorry that happened to you! I can't even imagine......I would say I am pretty self conscious about my body and even implied comments hurt my self esteem, but just outright yelling in your face that you are "curvy" must have been horrible. I'm here for you girl! By the way, people who do have "thigh gaps" are most certainly not as attractive as the curvy girls.

Stop bashing other people's ******* bodies to promote other types of bodies! Some people are naturally born with legs that have thigh gaps and they can be just as damn beautiful as people who don't have thigh gaps!

This is one of the most ****** up FML's I've read. And this makes me angry. People these days are so ignorant. Not everyone has ******* thigh gap, or the body structure to even have one. Plus, different kinds of legs in all different people are cute. They are basically pro-ana, and forcing eating disorders and self esteem issues into people.

dumb bstartches. I would say underweight Fstarckers but OP said they don't have a thigh gap. HAHA. I know it's harsh but what fstarcking society/media has done to brainwash people to be "perfect" or have the "Ideal" look/figure. I don't have a thigh gap so fstarck that!!

Ok, everyone putting the girls down for possibly being skinny and saying thigh gaps are unattractive; You all sound exactly like the girls putting down the OP for not having a thigh gap, the only difference is your putting them down for possibly having one. So how about instead just say how awful it is that the OP was being put down because of their body and not start putting down other peoples bodies, that way, you don't all sound like a bunch of hypocrites.

it is like the curvy girl or BBW stupid memes that are supposed to 'empower', raise self esteem and show that all body types are beautiful...by putting down girls who are skinny. WTF??!?!?! Mixed messages and hypocrisy much?
